Capsaicin and Menthol (USP) 0.025%w/w Cream work by interacting with sensory neurons in the skin. Capsaicin, derived from chili peppers, binds to the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) receptors, which are involved in pain and temperature sensation. This binding causes a temporary desensitization of the nerve fibers, reducing the transmission of pain signals.
