Pharmacovigilance is the science and practice of monitoring the safety of medicines — detecting, assessing and preventing adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and other medicine- related problems. Ailaaj operates a 24/7 reporting line and shares all reports with the Pakistan National Pharmacovigilance Centre at DRAP.

1. When should you report?
- Any unexpected reaction after taking a medicine (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty, GI upset, mood change, etc.).
- Lack of expected effect of a medicine.
- Suspected medication error (wrong dose, wrong drug, missed dose).
- Product quality concern — broken tablet, off colour or smell, leaking bottle, misprint on label.
- Suspected counterfeit or substandard product.
2. What to include in a report
- Patient — age, sex (no name needed).
- Medicine — brand name, generic name, batch number, expiry, manufacturer.
- Reaction — what happened, when it started, how long it lasted, severity.
- Outcome — recovered, recovering, ongoing, hospitalised, life-threatening.
- Other medicines — anything else taken in the same period.
- Reporter — patient, family member, doctor or pharmacist (your contact, if you'd like a follow-up).

4. What happens next
- Our Qualified Person for Pharmacovigilance (QPPV) reviews your report.
- We may contact you for clarification (only if you've shared contact details).
- Serious cases are forwarded to DRAP within 24 hours; non-serious within 15 days.
- We track outcomes and may issue a precautionary recall or label update if a pattern emerges.
5. Recalls and safety notices
Active recall notices are published on our Help & Support page. If a recall affects an order you placed, we will contact you directly with refund or replacement instructions.
